HOLIDAYS

SANTA CLAUS

is coming to town

What betterway to get into the holiday spirit than by taking in a parade? An annual tradition in Oshawa. Following the official tree lighting ceremony on Friday. The Santa’s parade of lights is one of the best parades in Durham Region. The parade shows off a large number of floats, marching bands and other participants. Thousands come out to see the annual Parade of Lights.

The 2021 parade is slated for November 20th.

Santa’s Parade of Lights

Though Santa will be shimmying down chimneys on Christmas Eve, he’s going to take a pass on parading through downtown Oshawa this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“The parade was cancelled due to the pandemic, we cannot have crowds gathering which will happen,” said Jodi Hewett, chair of the organizing group for Santa’s Parade of Lights. “For 2021 our Santa Committee is hoping the pandemic will be under control and we can resume our fun and happy Santa’s Parade of Lights for the children and seniors in our community.”

The 2021 parade is slated for November 20th.
